Short story
We built and now live in a prefabricated house in the Black Forest, South of Germany. We found our property on the skirts of a charming little village on the mountains. Facing a dreamy forest view and all covered in snow during winter, our home made of wood is cradled in Nature and we love it exactly like that.
While we design, improve and change our house, we make photos, videos and blog about it. It started with having a logbook for ourselves, then a photo book for our friends and later a few videos for all people asking about it. Now we are sharing with the world through social media and our blog here.
We hope our mod adventures entertain and inspire you. Enjoy!

Black Forest Fairy Tale
While dreaming of owning a home, we found a beautiful plot of land for sale in the South of Germany, in the legendary Black Forest region. With its natural parks of tall pine trees, serene lakes, medieval castles, traditional folk festivals, hiking trails, skiing resorts, lively inns, picturesque architecture and very friendly people, the Black Forest is a favorite destination for Nature enthusiasts in every season.

The journey begins
The remote, quiet village with its breathtaking mountain views and the stunning natural surroundings was the exactly place we’ve been looking for to write a fairy tale of our own. So we talked to our bank, started designing the building, and found a regional company to build a prefabricated house and garage based in our plans. While the building permit was being approved, we cleared the site from overgrown shrubs, fell a couple of trees, built a construction site road and poured the garage concrete foundation.

Three days + one year
With the construction site prepared, the company finished the concrete slab and, almost a month later, delivered the house in individual parts packed in several trucks.
House and garage were assembled over three days in January, right in the middle of a harsh winter. Shortly after the basic stuff was installed (water, electricity and heating), it was up to us to get it in livable conditions (flooring, plaster, paint, appliances, etc.). So we worked for a month like crazy, finished what we could and moved in into a construction site. Since then, we have been busy improving, modeling, designing, decorating and working on our day jobs to pay for all of it.

acho que todo o trabalho valeu muito.
